Zante Town is a developed tourist resort of the island and its located about 8 km from Zakynthos town and 6 km from Zante airport . The area got its name from the salt marshes and the work that took place there, which supplied the island with salt.

There are daily ferries from Zante to the port of Kyllini and the trip takes about an hour.
You can also travel by boat to the island of Kefalonia. From the port of Agios Nikolaos, in the south, are two daily ferries to the neighboring island.
The trip takes about 1 hour and you can spend with your car .
